We loved these albums in 2018

Talk about bangers!

The year 2018 has seen many of our favourite musicians dish out stellar albums that have left some of us pressing the repeat button over and over again.

When an artist finally decides that their body of work is worthy of their followers' attention and monetary support, that album is then released for all to listen and appreciate or not (bad reviews are a thing, hey). It is quite commendable that our artists have taken things up a notch by emphasising on the quality aspect of creating music.

ZAlebs has selected only a few artists that have released albums that shook the country and blazed the music charts. These albums kept us bopping our heads whether at the office, at home or traveling.

AKA’s fourth offering was nothing short of musical genius and sound quality. The rapper claimed that TMB would be his last offering, however, that is highly unlikely as he's stated on Twitter that he has already started working on his next five-year plan.

Iyeza

Anatii’s Iyeza is probably the most experimental hip hop albums to ever come out this year. The rapper and producer has proven that his creativity hasn’t hit the ceiling as this offering was a pure work of art. Recently, he shot a music video for one of our favourite tracks, Ntloni.

The maturity on Zonke Dikana’s titled L.O.V.E, does not go unnoticed. It is no wonder that the album reached gold status.

Strings and Bling

We think it is safe to say that this trailblazing rap star has had an amazing run after the release of his much talked about album, Strings and Bling. With hits such as King causing havoc, this album was worth the wait.

Manyan Nyan

Vusi Nova has never disappointed with his various offerings previously. When he released the much loved As’phelelanga as a single from his new album, it was only a matter of time until it caught fire. We are looking forward to hearing which tunes this musical powerhouse will release in the coming year.
