Taking shots at fellow rappers is quite a common practice within the realm of hip hop, worldwide.
Contradicting the above notion is South African hip hop artist, AKA. Touch My Blood is the latest body of work from this rapper, and he has expressed how proud he is of the fact that his album reached platinum without dragging any of his rivals down the mud.
We went Platinum and we didn’t have to beef with anybody to do it. We just worked our asses off while people took shots at us. It’s okay. It’s all good tho ... on behalf of the Megacy, I forgive you ❤️❤️❤️ ... you miserable bastards 😂— AKA (@akaworldwide) November 14, 2018
Hahahaha .... we blue ticked every last one of y’all and went plat 💿💿💿💿 ... 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 ... EPIC!!— AKA (@akaworldwide) November 14, 2018
AKA’s seemingly new approach to making music is quite refreshing. He is known for not seeing eye-to-eye with fellow rapper, Cassper Nyovest. There was also that drama with Shane Eagle, who even went as far as calling the father of one a popstar.
This is such a great achievement. It also goes to show that an artist can succeed without belittling fellow artists.
