The award-winning actress once had dreams of becoming a lawyer but dropped out after failing criminal law in her second year.
The disappointment turned out to be a blessing in disguise.
Jessica signed up for drama after noticing the department while sitting at her university cafeteria. She graduated from the University of KwaZulu-Natal in 2012 with a Bachelor of Arts in Drama and Performance degree.
Jessica then moved to Johannesburg to pursue her dream of becoming a famous actress.
Less than a year after her graduation, Jessica landed a role on what would become one of South Africa’s most popular soapies.

Up until September 2019, Jessica Nkosi dated Uzalo star, Ntokozo ‘TK’ Dlamini. The couple reportedly started their romance in 2017. They kept their relationship under wraps until July 2018 when Jessica confirmed they were indeed a couple. She posted a picture with her boyfriend TK on Instagram and Twitter. “… this is the first and last time you will see him,” Jessica wrote.
Their hot romance ended abruptly after Jessica discovered TK was allegedly cheating on her. TK Dlamini’s cheating drama was not the first time Jessica Nkosi had to deal with an affair scandal. The actress has also been accused of cheating. The Sunday Sun claimed in January 2015 that Jessica and fellow actress Nomzamo Mbatha were no longer friends because of a love triangle. The paper claimed that Jessica had an affair with Nomzamo’s fiancé at the time, Khaya Mthethwa.
Nomzmao allegedly found steamy text messages between Khaya and Jessica.
“Nomzamo couldn’t hold herself back anymore. She lost her cool and sent emails to the lovers to tell them their secret was out. On 28 December , Nomzamo told both of them she knew all about their affair. And she added they could carry on – with her blessings,” a source told the publication.
Neither Jessica nor Nomzamo confirmed the reason for their close friendship ending. Nomzamo did, however, hint in a 2016 interview on Expresso that she once had beef with someone in the industry.
