The songstress was tipped to take on the highly-anticipated BET Africa series, but was unexpectedly replaced by fellow star KB Motsilanyane.
Now she is telling her version of events...
Kelly claims that she QUIT the role because she was not happy with the working conditions, including "dirty bathrooms".
In a recent interview with Metro FM, Kelly said she complained about the lack of hygiene on set, only to be told she was a "diva"
The situation was so bad that Kelly gave the production team an ultimatum; clean up their dirty set or “we just don’t have the talent”.
Obviously the latter occurred, because Kelly chose to walk away from what potentially could have been her biggest TV role.
But Kelly has no regrets and told City Press of her decision: "I am at a point in my life where I have recognised the importance of representing myself the best way I can possible do.
Reality TV producer Legend Manqele sided with Kelly over her claims of less than acceptable working conditions.
“Kelly felt that working under these conditions was limiting her ability to honour the talented icon that was Lebo Mathosa and execute a sound performance,” he said.
Meanwhile, Kelly has dropped a new song titled Undithatha Kancinci
The heartfelt song is an ode to Kelly's real-life experiences, including hardships and heartbreaks.
Kelly told The Saturday Star: “The song is about a woman who has had enough of being underestimated by society and her romantic relationships...I’m at a point where I have had enough and I’m ready to take my rightful place.”
