South Africa's media personality, Minnie Dlamini-Jones recently posted a gorgeous nude photograph on her Instagram page, whereby she can be seen seated in complete stark nudity but used her long blonde wig to conservatively cover her boobs.
The beautiful photoshoot serves as an understated ad for Minnie's new skin care range. It seems to have also doubled as an effective marketing tool for Mrs Jones's new cosmetics range called, MD Skin Care by Minnie Dlamini.
As all celebrity ventures, there has to be a fancy launch, no? This past weekend, she officially launched her skin care products, MD by Minnie Dlamini, with an intimate Spa day. Judging by the latest uploads on her Instagram, the launch was a resounding success. A few celebrities were spotted at the launch, including Unathi Nkayi, Nomuzi Mabena and Gert Johan Coetzee to mention a few.
A few years ago, South African artist, KB Motsilenyane also posted a nude photo of herself on Instagram. The inspiration behind it all was to promote self love and care. Some of her followers even regarded the photo as a piece of art.
The iconic photograph was followed by this caption below:
"So often we place others' opinion of us above our own. We let them decide who and what we are. Be your own ambassador. Trust your journey. Run your own marathon. Be the beholder of your own beauty... inside out."
Nudity, can indeed be viewed in multiple folds. Whilst there are still strong elements of sexual connotations attached to it, one can't ignore the transformational and modern messaging that can be found in the art of nudity.
