There seems to be more than meets the eye regarding the unfolding drama at the Idols headquarters.

In round one, avid watchers of Idols on Mzansi Magic were shocked to learn that Viggy Qwabe has withdrawn from the competition, following the elimination of her twin sister, Virginia.

Round two was a mixed bag of confusion but shed some light into the behind the scenes drama on Idols. Contestant, Sneziey was accused of being a bully towards the Qwabe twins, which allegedly was part of the reason why Viggy decided to up and leave the competition.

...And now in round three, we have a new character that has certainly spiced things up - Laurence Qwabe.

He is the father to Viggy and Virginia Qwabe and has recently come out to share some unfortunate details regarding the alleged mistreatment that his talented daughters endured on Idols.

Laurence stated that some insiders on Idols tipped them as a family, about the upcoming elimination of one of his twins. Apparently this was done to protect other contestants who, the powers that be, were silently pushing to win the competition.

Speaking to Daily Sun, Laurence said the following:

"We got the information through insiders who felt sorry for the twins, and also from those who see the counting process. This happened a few days before the Sunday round.

"Idols is rigged and I advised Viggy to withdraw. I don't want my girls to get hurt. They are back home in KZN. I came back with them and I've kept them in a safe place, away from everyone including the media."

The publication established that Mzansi Magic's head of PR & Publicity for local entertainment channels, Philly Kubheka confirmed that they are aware of the issues that the Qwabe family has raised and are currently in conversion with them.
