Zodwa's Xenophobia Message Didn't Land

Sep 04, 2019, 03:30 PM

Zodwa Wabantu was told by her followers to "stick to dancing" and showing a** after she tried to speak out against xenophobia. It's fair to suggest, however, that her message didn't quite have the intended effect.

After witnessing the looting of foreign-owned shops in South African cities this week, Zodwa Wabantu decided that it was time to use her platform to speak out. The entertainer picked up a newspaper and took to Instagram to call out South Africans who were attacking foreigners.

The only problem is that in condemning the attacks against Foreigners, Zodwa Wabantu called out South Africans and described them as "lazy". Down the years the unfair generalisation that South Africans are "lazier" than their foreign counterparts has angered the masses once again it made locals livid when Zodwa made the suggestion.

Zodwa wrote:

"Our Lazy Sister's & Brother's are Lazy they are Taking things from People who are really doing something about their Lives"

Let's just say that some of the replies to Zodwa's thoughts on the matter were not very kind. Zodwa was attacked from many quarters of her fanbase after airing the offensive comments.

This is not the first time this year that Zodwa has offended a key portion of her fanbase. Earlier in 2019 she was being dragged for her comments on homosexual men in South Africa are making unflattering comparisons with women.

After being dragged yet again for her unsavoury views, Zodwa has instead vowed to stick to what she "knows best"
