Anambra Withdraws Funding as Akubudike FC Takes NNL Place

Solution FC is expected to leave the Nigeria National League (NNL) before the start of the upcoming season after the Anambra State government reportedly decided not to continue financing the club. The state-owned and state-funded team had been competing in Nigeria’s second-tier division, but the withdrawal of public backing is set to end its participation in the 2026/27 campaign. Privately owned Akubudike FC, another club from Anambra State, has reportedly taken over Solution FC’s league position and is due to compete in the NNL in its place. The 2026/27 season is scheduled to begin on Saturday, 31 October.
