Benue Governor’s Aide Seeks North-Central Support for Tinubu in 2027

Tersoo Kula, press secretary to Benue State Governor Hyacinth Alia, has urged people across Nigeria’s North-Central region to back President Bola Tinubu for re-election in the 2027 general polls, saying another term would preserve the momentum of the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

Call for continuity in 2027

Speaking on TVC News on Wednesday, Kula said retaining Tinubu in office would allow the Federal Government to continue delivering its policy programme without interruption. He argued that the administration’s economic measures, while reform-driven, were necessary to build durable growth and improve long-term prosperity.

He said North-Central states were positioned to gain from the Federal Government’s policies and linked Benue’s own development programme to cooperation between the state and national governments.

Economic reforms and Benue investment programme

Kula said the Alia administration’s spending and initiatives in agriculture, education and health had been reinforced by Tinubu’s economic policies. In his view, the reforms had helped support economic expansion and lifted federal revenue allocations to state governments.

  • Benue Brewery has been brought back into operation after being inactive.
  • Bensono Orange Juice Company is among the industrial facilities being revived.
  • Taraku Mills has also been reactivated as part of efforts to restore industrial activity.
  • The Benue Investment and Property Company, or BIPC, has entered local production of bread, nails and steel.

He presented those projects as evidence of an effort by the Benue government to restart industry, widen employment and business opportunities, and direct available public financial resources toward economic development.

Road projects and public-sector welfare

On infrastructure, Kula cited urban-renewal schemes and road-building work taking place across Benue as achievements of the current administration.

He said the state had begun preparations to build three township roads in each of Benue’s 23 local government areas.

The governor’s spokesman added that the administration continued to place importance on the welfare of civil servants and pensioners.

Appeal to regional voters

Kula called on voters in Benue and elsewhere in the North-Central zone to support both Alia and Tinubu in the 2027 elections. He said their continued leadership would help maintain development programmes in Benue, the wider region and Nigeria as a whole.
