Nigeria’s Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) has opened an investigation into the ownership structure, membership and management of Doman Engineering Company Limited, and has placed the company’s file under CAVEAT while the process continues. The commission announced the move in a statement posted on X on Tuesday.
CAC said the inquiry is being conducted under its authority in Sections 8(1)(c), 358(2), and 369(1) and (2) of the Companies and Allied Matters Act 2020. The company has consequently been designated as under investigation, with the CAVEAT intended to preserve the existing position while the review is under way.
The commission expressed concern that rival parties had allegedly taken steps that could weaken its regulatory authority and interfere with ongoing court proceedings, despite an instruction to maintain the status quo. It cited cases FHC/LAG/CS/1203/2026 and FHC/ABJ/PET/17/2026 as the lawsuits involved.
CAC urged all parties to avoid any form of self-help while the matters remain before the courts. It warned that it would not acknowledge changes carried out in breach of its regulatory instructions or while the lawsuits are pending.
The parties were also asked to assist the inspectors appointed to examine the company under Sections 358(2) and 369(1) and (2) of CAMA 2020. CAC said the judicial proceedings should be allowed to reach their conclusion, after which the final decision will be implemented.
