Dangote Refinery has lowered its nationwide wholesale prices for petrol and diesel, a move that could put additional downward pressure on fuel costs at Nigerian filling stations.
- On Wednesday, the 700,000-barrel-per-day facility reduced its petrol price at the gantry to N1,165 per litre, from N1,215.
- The refinery also cut its diesel, or Automotive Gas Oil, price to N1,570 per litre, compared with the previous N1,650.
- The changes represent reductions of N50 per litre for petrol and N80 per litre for diesel.
- Lower refinery prices are expected to encourage a further decline in retail pump prices across Nigeria.
- PETROAN National President Billy Gillis-Harry previously said fuel prices could fall further if the cost of bringing petroleum products into the country continues to decrease.
