Aliko Dangote, president of Dangote Refinery, said investors from 200 countries took part in the company’s recently completed initial public offering, which was priced at N525 per share.

Global participation in refinery share sale

Speaking in an interview during the WIMBIZ Annual Conference, Dangote said the offering attracted particularly broad participation from across Africa.

  • Investors from 200 countries participated in the IPO.
  • Fifty-four African countries were represented in the transaction.
  • Dangote said participation covered every country on the African continent.

“Two hundred countries participated in the IPO, out of which 54 African countries participated. In fact, all African countries participated,” Dangote said in the widely circulated interview.

Pricing aimed at public access

Dangote said the refinery set the offer price at N525 per share to make the transaction accessible to the wider public. The company branded the share sale as the People’s IPO.

Offer size and closing date

The Dangote Refinery IPO closed on October 27, 2026. It sought to raise N2.15 trillion through the sale of 4.1 billion ordinary shares, each offered at N525.
