Dangote Refinery Raises Petrol Gantry Price to N1,200 Per Litre

Dangote Refinery has lifted its Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) gantry price by N15 per litre to N1,200, marking its second increase in under two weeks as fuel costs remain elevated across Nigeria.

Dangote raises wholesale petrol price

The refinery’s latest adjustment moved the gantry rate from N1,185 to N1,200 per litre. The change follows a N20-per-litre increase on August 21, when the price rose from N1,165 to N1,185.

  • The two increases together represent a N35-per-litre rise in less than two weeks.
  • Dangote Refinery supplies most of Nigeria’s petrol requirements.

Free deliveries continue despite adjustment

The refinery has maintained its free petrol distribution programme even after raising the gantry price. The initiative covers 10 locations across Nigeria, with Abuja among the areas included.

Crude oil prices were reported at $86.62 and $80.35 per barrel at the time of the market assessment.

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited had previously increased its retail petrol price by N20 per litre, setting the rate at N1,270 in Abuja and surrounding areas.

By the time of filing, motorists in Abuja were purchasing petrol at prices ranging from N1,230 to N1,299 per litre.
