Mamman Daura, vice-presidential candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), has described the party’s presidential hopeful, Seyi Makinde, as the strongest contender in the 2027 election.
Daura made the remarks on Saturday when he hosted officials of the Northern Patriotic Front (NPF) at the APM presidential campaign headquarters in Abuja.
He said Makinde was the most suitable person to succeed President Bola Tinubu when his term ends in 2027, arguing that the Oyo State governor had an advantage over leading opposition figures.
Daura said Makinde ranked ahead of Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi and other prominent aspirants seeking the presidency. “Makinde can defeat Atiku, Peter Obi and every other candidate in the presidential contest,” he said.
He cited Makinde’s record in office as governor, his relatively young age and his appeal in both northern and southern Nigeria as factors that make him an appropriate candidate for the 2027 race.
