First City Monument Bank (FCMB) has received an excellence award from the Lagos Chapter of the Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA) for its work in technology governance, cybersecurity, risk management, auditing, assurance, and digital trust in Nigeria.
The recognition reflects the bank’s collaboration with ISACA in advancing knowledge exchange, professional training, and higher standards throughout Nigeria’s technology industry.
Yemisi Edun, FCMB’s managing director and chief executive, accepted a commemorative plaque honouring the bank’s role in building digital trust and supporting professional development at the ISACA Lagos Chapter’s 30th anniversary event in Lagos on August 21, 2026.
Edun said FCMB valued its relationship with ISACA and viewed the award as evidence of a common goal to improve the skills and standards that sustain confidence in digital systems. She added that as financial services rely increasingly on technology, effective governance, cyber protection, risk controls, and independent assurance would remain vital to institutional resilience, customer security, and long-term economic development.
At the anniversary and awards ceremony in Lagos, ISACA Global Chief Executive Erik Prusch stood alongside Edun and Justus Osuji, president of the ISACA Lagos Chapter and chairman of the ISACA Nigeria Chapters. FCMB was presented with an excellence award during the event.
Edun said she expected ISACA to continue preparing professionals with the technical knowledge and leadership abilities needed to manage new risks and make the most of emerging opportunities.
Prusch praised the depth of experience and the resilience demonstrated by Nigeria’s information technology and cybersecurity workforce. He said companies require well-trained and capable staff to drive expansion, adapt to changing conditions, and harness new technologies.
Osuji said the anniversary offered a chance to review 30 years of professional service, leadership, and the development of industry knowledge. He also pointed to the chapter’s work in information systems auditing, cybersecurity, governance, risk, compliance, and emerging technologies in Nigeria and other markets.
FCMB is continuing to expand its digital platforms, technology infrastructure, cybersecurity systems, and risk-management capabilities as it seeks to deliver secure and accessible financial services to individuals, companies, and institutions.
Established in 1969, ISACA is an international professional body specialising in information technology governance, cybersecurity, risk management, and information systems auditing. The organisation has members across 188 countries and operates more than 225 chapters globally.
