Harry Kane has become the fifth player from England to receive the Ballon d’Or, football’s leading individual prize, after being named the 2026 winner in London on Monday night.
- The Bayern Munich forward finished ahead of Real Madrid’s Kylian Mbappé and Barcelona teenager Lamine Yamal in the voting for the 2026 award.
- Kane is the first English recipient in 25 years, following Michael Owen’s victory, and joins Sir Stanley Matthews, Sir Bobby Charlton and Kevin Keegan among England’s previous winners.
- The 33-year-old earned the honour after producing 73 goals and eight assists across club and international fixtures during the previous season.
- His campaign also included a domestic trophy treble with Bayern: the 2025-26 Bundesliga title, the German Cup and the German Super Cup.
