Results of the repeat primary
The APC conducted the fresh exercise on Saturday throughout the 21 wards in Argungu/Augie Federal Constituency. The result was formally released on Sunday by Alhaji Shehu Kawu-Damina, the returning officer and head of the APC National Committee for the primary.
Kawu-Damina said Hassan-Augie won by a wide margin, polling 33,013 votes against Salihu-Felande’s 1,319. With 34,332 votes cast, he declared Hassan-Augie the party’s nominee for the House of Representatives position, having obtained the largest share of valid support in the contest.
Court ruling prompted new vote
The rerun followed a Federal High Court decision in Birnin Kebbi on October 15 that set aside the earlier APC primary election. The court directed the party to organise a replacement exercise within two weeks, leading to Saturday’s vote.
