Alex Iwobi said Fulham’s narrow victory over Hull City could provide the lift needed to revive their season after the London side ended a frustrating Premier League run without a win.
Alvaro Arbeloa’s team secured a hard-fought 1-0 result at Craven Cottage on Saturday, with Iwobi scoring the only goal before half-time. The win brought an end to Fulham’s barren start to the league campaign.
The Nigeria international said the squad had continued to produce encouraging performances despite failing to convert them into results, and urged his teammates to carry the renewed confidence into the matches ahead.
“This victory had been coming for a while,” Iwobi said. “We have played well, even if the results did not reflect that. The manager told us to keep pushing and hoped that fortune would eventually turn in our favour. It has started to do that now, so we need to move forward and carry this momentum through the rest of the season.”
