Two farmers were kidnapped after armed bandits raided Assako village in Kaduna State’s Kachia Local Government Area, heightening concerns over persistent insecurity facing rural communities.
The attack was disclosed on Sunday by security analyst Bakatsine in a post on X. The assailants were said to have entered the community on motorcycles and fired gunshots, prompting residents to run for cover.
Churchgoers were among those affected by the alarm triggered by the gunfire, as people attending a service in the village were caught up in the rush to safety.
The abductors reportedly seized the two farmers from their farmland and took them away. They were still being held, and no details had emerged about where they had been taken.
Bakatsine questioned how much longer communities in rural parts of Kaduna would be forced to endure recurring attacks and live under the threat of violence.
