Kogi to Face Five-Hour Power Outage During Ajaokuta Substation Maintenance

Parts of Kogi State are scheduled to experience a temporary electricity outage on Tuesday as the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) carries out maintenance at the 330/132kV Ajaokuta Transmission Substation.

TCN said the work will be conducted on September 1, 2026, between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. During that period, the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) will be unable to supply electricity to customers in Adogo, Anyigba, Ganaja and nearby areas of Kogi State.

The state-owned transmission operator said the intervention is required so its maintenance team can service the bay switchgear and related equipment on the 132kV Ajaokuta Transmission Line 1.
