Manchester City manager Enzo Maresca said Paris Saint-Germain coach Luis Enrique described his side as fortunate after PSG secured a 4-2 Champions League win at the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday.
PSG, the reigning French Ligue 1 champions, scored through Désiré Doué, Ousmane Dembélé, Vitinha and Maghnes Akliouche to overcome City in the European fixture.
Speaking after the match, Maresca said Enrique had acknowledged that PSG benefited from luck over the course of the 95-minute contest.
“Luis told me at the end that they had been quite lucky over the 95 minutes, but we lost and can move forward,” Maresca said.
The defeat left Manchester City 17th in the Champions League standings. The club has three points from two matches, with one victory and one draw.
City will return to domestic competition this weekend, when they host Ipswich Town in the Premier League.
