Two men died in Ibadan on Monday after a dispute over the division of money escalated into a fatal knife fight in the Ogunpa area of the city.
The confrontation reportedly began when the two suspected street youths argued over how funds handed to them should be shared. The disagreement turned violent, with both men allegedly using knives against each other.
One of the men reportedly stabbed the other in the right wrist. The second man then allegedly struck his opponent in the neck, resulting in his immediate death at the scene.
The man injured in the wrist was taken to a nearby hospital, but he was said to have died from severe blood loss before receiving adequate medical treatment.
