Central Bank of Nigeria figures put the naira at N1,331.28 to the dollar on Thursday, versus N1,329.86 in the previous session. The move represented a one-day depreciation of N1.42 at the official market.
The currency also weakened in the parallel market, where it slipped by N2 to N1,392 per dollar from N1,390 on Wednesday.
The latest losses came as Nigeria’s external reserves were reported at $54.67 billion on September 16, 2026. The naira had already closed weaker against the dollar in each of the two preceding sessions at the official foreign-exchange market.
