Naira Gains Slightly as Official Rate Improves to N1,330.47 per Dollar

The naira recovered slightly against the US dollar at Nigeria’s official foreign-exchange market on Tuesday, reversing the modest decline recorded at the start of the week. Central Bank of Nigeria figures showed the currency trading at N1,330.47 per dollar, compared with Monday’s rate of N1,331.33, representing a day-to-day gain of N0.86.

Trading in the parallel market was unchanged, with the naira holding at N1,375 to the dollar on Tuesday, the same level recorded a day earlier. The contrasting movements in the official and unofficial markets occurred as Nigeria’s foreign-exchange reserves climbed further to $54.91 billion on September 28, 2026. The naira had weakened against the dollar on Monday, opening the week on a negative footing.
