The naira weakened marginally against the US dollar in Nigeria’s official foreign-exchange market on Thursday, trading at N1,328.67 per dollar compared with N1,328.50 a day earlier, Central Bank of Nigeria data showed. The move represented a one-day decline of N0.17.

Trading in the parallel market was steadier, with the naira holding at N1,385 to the dollar, unchanged from Wednesday. The contrasting movements in the official and informal markets came as Nigeria’s foreign-exchange reserves continued to rise, reaching $54.83 billion as of September 23, 2026, based on central bank figures.
