Naira Strengthens to N1,326.52 per Dollar as Official Market Gains Continue

The naira strengthened further against the US dollar in the official foreign-exchange market on Friday, closing the week with another gain. The currency traded at N1,326.52 per dollar, compared with N1,328.22 on Thursday, marking a daily appreciation of N1.70.

Trading in the parallel market was unchanged, with the naira holding at N1,390 per dollar for a second consecutive day. In recent sessions, the currency has posted more advances than declines in the official market, while staying broadly stable in the parallel market.

The latest improvement coincided with a further rise in Nigeria’s foreign-exchange reserves, which reached $54.41 billion as of September 10, 2026.
