Central Bank of Nigeria figures showed the currency trading at N1,326.69 to the dollar on Sept. 2, compared with N1,329.43 on Tuesday. The move represented a N2.74 appreciation from one session to the next in the official market.
Trading was steadier outside the official window. The naira held at N1,400 per dollar in the parallel market, matching Tuesday’s level.
The divergence between the two markets came as Nigeria’s reserves continued to strengthen, reaching $53.90 billion on Sept. 1, 2026.
The latest rise follows Tuesday’s advance, which gave the naira a stronger start to September.
