Nigeria Launches Procurement Training to Help MSMEs Win Public Contracts

Nigeria’s Federal Government is launching procurement training for micro, small and medium-sized enterprises, aiming to help more local companies compete for and win public-sector contracts.

The Bureau of Public Procurement said on Monday that the programme is due to start on Tuesday. It will provide Nigerian MSMEs with practical knowledge and capabilities required to participate in federal procurement processes.

  1. The government will begin the procurement-focused training for Nigerian MSMEs on Tuesday.
  2. The programme is intended to improve businesses’ understanding of how to pursue federal government contract opportunities.
  3. Authorities expect the initiative to reinforce domestic enterprises, support employment creation and encourage broader-based economic expansion.
  4. The effort is part of a wider policy push to increase MSMEs’ participation in public purchasing, build their operating capacity and deepen their role in Nigeria’s economic development.
