
Petrol retailers in Nigeria have cut pump prices by N35 to N90 per litre, roughly three weeks after Dangote Refinery lowered its wholesale gantry price.

MRS, Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, AA Rano, Nigerian Independent Petroleum Company, Emedab and other retailers in Abuja and surrounding locations have lowered their prices to the new range. The reductions followed the earlier wholesale adjustment by the Dangote refinery.
Across the first 20 days of August, the minimum recorded decline in retail petrol prices was N35 per litre. The changes underline the fluid pricing conditions in Nigeria’s downstream oil market.
Dangote’s petrol now costs N53.54 less than imported product, whose landing value was N1,218.54 per litre. The refinery’s price reduction brought its gantry charge down from N1,210 to N1,165 per litre.
The domestic price decline has come even as international crude benchmarks remained elevated. At the time of reporting, Brent stood at $91.90 per barrel and WTI at $84.60.
