Nigeria’s Foreign Reserves Slip to $55.24bn After Two-Day Decline

Nigeria’s external reserves edged lower for a second straight day, reaching $55.24 billion on October 29, 2026, Central Bank of Nigeria figures showed.

The reserve position slipped to $55.26 billion on October 28 before declining again to $55.24 billion the following day. The two sessions together represented a $20 million reduction in the country’s foreign-currency holdings.

Despite the late-period decline, the reserves still posted a net gain of $60 million over the October 23-29 review period. Foreign reserves rose from $55.18 billion on October 23 to $55.24 billion by October 29.

Meanwhile, the naira ended Friday’s trading at N1,346.26 per US dollar.
