The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) expects 26 vessels carrying petroleum products, food items and other goods to reach Lagos ports from August 30 through September 13. The projection was contained in the authority’s Monday Daily Shipping Position issued in Lagos.
Of the scheduled arrivals, 12 ships are set to bring containers filled with assorted merchandise, while four are expected to deliver aviation fuel. The other 10 vessels will transport cargoes such as crude oil, petrol, sugar and bulk salt.
The NPA also reported that 13 ships and tankers were already at the three Lagos ports, waiting for berths. Their cargoes include bulk urea, petrol, crude oil, diesel, bulk fertiliser and bulk wheat.
In addition, 19 vessels were actively unloading cargo at the ports. Their shipments comprise bulk urea, containerised merchandise, general cargo, bulk pallets, diplomatic consignments, petrol and bulk gas. Operations are taking place at Lekki Deep Sea Port, Apapa Port and Tin Can Island Port, all in Lagos.
