Plateau United technical adviser Gbenga Ogunbote has said his side will not underestimate Sporting Lagos when the teams meet in Sunday’s Nigeria Premier Football League matchday-nine fixture in Jos.
League form heading into the match
- Plateau United, known as the Peace Boys, have lost just once across their past seven league outings.
- Sporting Lagos arrive after drawing three of their previous four NPFL matches.
- The two clubs are scheduled to play in Jos on Sunday as the league reaches its ninth round of fixtures.
Focus on maximum points
Ogunbote said the importance of the contest leaves no room for his players to become complacent, despite Plateau United’s stronger recent run.
“At this point, every match matters and there will be no complacency,” Ogunbote said.
He added that Plateau United would rely on hard work, as well as favourable fortune, in pursuit of a home victory. “I hope luck is on our side. We will put in our best effort and give everything needed to claim the maximum points.”
