One Killed in Attack on Accord Candidate’s Campaign Team in Ibadan

Oyo State Police Command has confirmed that one person was killed during a political campaign event in Ibadan after an attack on the campaign entourage of Accord’s governorship candidate, Alhaji Oriyomi Hazmat.

Police spokesperson Olayinka Ayanlade said the incident occurred on Wednesday in the Molete district of Ibadan, where suspected thugs assaulted members of Hazmat’s campaign team.

The deceased was identified as 40-year-old Azeez Tajudeen, a resident of Oke Amu in Oyo State’s Otesiwaju Local Government Area. He suffered a serious injury to his right eye during the violence.

Tajudeen was taken urgently for treatment before being transferred to the State Hospital at Ring Road in Ibadan, where medical personnel pronounced him dead. His body has been placed in the hospital morgue.
