Bilyaminu Yusuf Shinkafi, the African Democratic Congress governorship candidate in Zamfara State, has denounced the latest bandit raid in Kaura Namoda and demanded immediate measures to safeguard local residents.
-
Shinkafi offered condolences to relatives of the people killed in the attack and criticised the Zamfara State government’s handling of the security crisis. He said the authorities had not shown the level of urgency required to defend lives and property.
-
“People in Zamfara should be able to live free from fear,” he said. “The deaths of innocent people must not be allowed to become routine, and the hardship facing our communities cannot continue to be handled as though it were normal.”
-
The ADC candidate said security would be among his central priorities if he wins the governorship. His proposed approach would include closer coordination with security agencies, stronger intelligence collection and targeted protections for communities most exposed to attacks.
-
He also called on the state administration to introduce urgent, measurable actions to stop further violence, arguing that public promises alone would not be sufficient.
-
Shinkafi prayed for those who died and asked for strength for the bereaved families as they cope with their losses.
