Troops deployed under Operation Ensuring Peace (OPEP) have recovered the decomposed remains of an unidentified man from an unused building behind a primary school in Jwakom Village, within Plateau State’s Mangu Local Government Area.
Discovery Reported in Jwakom Village
The incident was reported at about 1:40 p.m. on Sunday, October 25, 2026, leading Sector 8 OPEP personnel to visit the location.
- The body was found inside an abandoned structure situated behind a primary school.
- Troops confirmed that the remains were those of a male and were already decomposing.
- Initial efforts to determine the man’s identity did not produce any result.
Body Handed to Community Representative
Following the recovery operation, the remains were transferred to Jwakom’s youth leader for the necessary arrangements and action.
Investigation Continues
Authorities are continuing inquiries to identify the deceased and establish how he died. Further action is expected as investigators obtain additional details about the circumstances of the death.
