Yesterday, 23-year-old culinary sensation and social media influencer, Luyanda Mafanya hit up rapper Cassper Nyovest for an opportunity to cook for him.
Instead of just agreeing, Nyovest set her a challenge to reach 10,000 tweets before he'd agree to letting her cook for him and his team.
Dam, this food look mad expensive doe.... 10 000 RTs then we'll do the Dinner... then we'll speak about the rest after the dinner. Deal? https://t.co/H0Ad1yurXJ— Abuti Fill Up (@CassperNyovest) May 31, 2017
This rubbed many people up the wrong way as they thought this was impossible and the rapper was setting her up to fail.
Don't be self-absorbed man. Not everything is about ego and twitter. This lady is asking for assistance, if you can't, just say no. Come now— Zola (@Zolaskhokho) May 31, 2017
But the rapper quickly clarified his intentions.
Let me school you a lil bit. If she gets 10 000 Rts she's exposed to 10 000 people before she even cooks for me. That's how you give back 😉 https://t.co/owfAv8mu7V— Abuti Fill Up (@CassperNyovest) May 31, 2017
The nay-sayers were quickly silenced when Luyanda topped the 10K RT challenge in less than 24 hours.
Omg between my tweet and his tweet we both almost on 20 000 retweets in less than 24 hours!!!!! Thanks so much guys pic.twitter.com/UiLZMZF2RQ— cookingwithluyanda (@Luyanda_Maf) May 31, 2017
And Cassper kept his promise
Yay Luyanda! You shot your shot and you scored. We can't wait to see what meteoric heights you'll reach next.
Don't knock the power of retweets y'all. It got Rami Chuene a role on the Ferguson Films drama, The Queen.
