Remona Moodley was sent off to the Miss World pageant in style on Tuesday night in Johannesburg.

Moodley, who will be competing in the pageant following Miss South Africa Melinda Bam’s decision to withdraw, looked stunning in a blue dress and will be carrying the hopes of a nation on her shoulders.

Miss World takes place in China in August.

Tanzanian-born designer Anisa Mpungwe recently opened her first Loin Cloth and Ashes store in the Maboneng Precinct, situated in the heart of Joburg’s new urban development.

Anisa, who is the creative design genius designer behind Loin Cloth and Ashes, was overjoyed. “It has been an interesting journey and I am glad that I finally have my own shop where people can come and get my clothes,” she said through teary eyes.

Radio personality Anele Mdoda, who has become the official ambassador and face of the brand, was ecstatic about the new flagship store.

“I am glad Anisa has opened this store – I’m so proud of her. I have been wearing her clothes for many years now. She’s really come full circle with the launch of this store,” Anele said.

Many zalebs came out to official store opening show their support and love for LCA.

“Anisa makes great clothes that are African and feminine,” said All Access Mzansi presenter Bridget Masinga.

Always Platinum decided to give some of their customers and members of the media a taste of luxury recently at their Always Platinum Event.

The event was hosted at a revamped Park Station hall where expensive chocolates, sushi and champagne flowed freely.

“Always Platinum is about giving you as a woman luxury and we are showing our guests what that is all about today, “said the night’s MC and Always Platinum ambassador, actress Gail Nkoane.

TV presenter Pearl Thusi was taken in for questioning on Tuesday by a Gauteng crime intelligence officer in Johannesburg. This came after Thabo Bester, also known as the Facebook rapist, claimed that Thusi could lead police to the bodies of more victims.

On the 3rd of July 2012, presenter, model and personality Bonang Matheba and her former boyfriend, DJ Euphonik were spotted at the Randburg Magistrates Court in Johannesburg.

DJ Euphonik is facing charges of assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, domestic violence and malicious damage to property after he allegedly beat Bonang.

Simba Mhere shot into stardom when he became the youngest member of SABC3′s Top Billing presenting team in 2010.

Simba has striking looks; he turns heads as soon as he walks into a room because of his height and stature. Many who hear him speak are also stunned at his deep and smooth voice.

Simba studied B. Comm Accounting at the University of Johannesburg, and some might say his current career path is a far cry from the numbers road he seemed to be heading towards, but he has captured the hearts of South Africans.

Despite his new-found fame, Simba says he comes from a humble background. In his Top Billing profile, he says, ‘I’m from a very humble background – my parents are missionaries and never had much, but they did everything they could for me. My mom started off as a secretary while my dad was going on crusades.’

Remona Moodley is the First Princess of Miss South Africa 2011. She will be representing South Africa at the Miss World 2012 pageant after the crowned Miss SA Melinda Bam decided to withdraw for personal reasons.

The 23-year-old has a degree in Electrical Engineering. She managed to matriculate with five distinctions.

She was crowned Miss India South Africa when she was 17, making her the youngest winner ever.

In 2010, she attended the World Economic Forum in Switzerland as part of efforts to promote South Africa for the soccer World Cup. She was Brand Ambassador for South Africa.

In 2010, she founded the Fund-a-Dream Foundation, and also became the National Director of the registered NPO.

Remona has been given the full support of Sun International and Miss South Africa Melinda Bam in preparing for the Miss World 2012 pageant, which takes place in China. Fashion designer Haroun Hasnrot will be designing her formal evening gown. He is known for fusing Indian and Western styles tastefully, and Remona’s ancestry will be reflected in her dress.

Tropika Island of Treasure is back for an epic 5th season full of exciting changes!

The announcement was made at the Da Vinci Hotel in Sandton on the 27th of June 2012.

Fronting the zalebrity contestants for the new season is SA’s hottest hip-hop giant and rap royalty AKA; Miss RGB and Zone 14′s sweetheart Pearl Thusi; king of kool Da L.E.S, sweltering cover girl Reeva Steenkamp; feisty former teen queen, actress and TV presenter Phuti Khomo; Mario “hot abs” Ogle, and rising Isidingo star and feature film actress Jay Anstey.

The show has also moved over to SABC1 and will be broadcast  in a prime time slot at 18h30 on Saturday from February 2013, and will grow from a 3o minute segment to keep viewers enthralled in a full 1 hour show.
