Aubrey takes the lead

Aubrey-PooAubrey Poo, the award-winning musical theatre performer and actor, is joining the cast of the Mandela Trilogy as one of three singers playing the character of Nelson Mandela.

The Mandela Trilogy is a tribute to the various stages of Madiba’s life.

Thato Machona plays the young Mandela, Aubrey plays Mandela in his early adult life, and Aubrey Lodewyk plays the prisoner who became president. These performers, all experts in their performances, are highly talented and have also performed internationally.

Aubrey is possibly best known for his role as Pelo Mohale in SABC2’s “Muvhango” and Pastor Lefa Letswalo in e.tv’s “Scandal”. He also has an extensive CV in television, and starred in films “Ouma se Slim Kind” and “Winnie – A Life”.

The Trilogy was received with enthusiasm in Cape Town last year, and the revised version travels with the accompaniment of the Voice of the Nation Ensemble and the KZN Philharmonic Orchestra to Johannesburg, Durban and Bloemfontein.

The musical is funded by the National Lottery Distribution Trust Fund and is presented by the Cape Town Opera, Rand Merchant Bank and Kaya FM. It is certain to be excellent entertainment for the entire family. For tickets, visit Computicket.
