A cyber storm has blown up over comedian Casper de Vries’ commentary about a letter from a Namibian man who complained about his dirty mouth.
Uys de Vos sent de Vries an email about his show “Gaan Groot”, saying he swore so much that he would have “made a sailor blush”.
De Vries did not keep quiet, and wrote back, saying he knew it was their right to complain, but it was not their right to point their fingers at him.
The commentary on Die Burger’s article ranged from hitting out at the complainant, to people saying Casper’s days as a comedian were numbered, and he was simply a “miserable little man who thought he would make money by swearing worse than a sailor and expecting people to laugh at him”.
