For her graduation ceremony, Chomee forwent her usual racy attire in favour of a classic graduation gown instead.

On Tuesday, the 25-year-old singer received a diploma in media studies at the University of Johannesburg. She revealed that she is also planning to work towards an honours degree in the same field.

In a statement to the Sowetan, Chomee had the following to say: “I am very proud of myself. So is my music stable 999 and family, who are here to support me. It’s unfortunate that my mother could not attend because she is not well. It took a lot of hard work to balance my career and studies, but I am very happy I made it.”

Twitter has been abuzz with congratulatory messages for Chomee. HHP (@HopHopPantsula) tweeted the following:  ‏”A big Big BIG shout out to Chomee 4 graduating. I’m inspired for real. Going back to school lenna. Nothing sexier than an educated woman…”
