Squeeze on your skinny jeans – indie rockers Clap Your Hands Say Yeah are on their way to South Africa.

Abbreviated as CYHSY, the Brooklyn-based band will perform in Cape Town and Johannesburg on 13 and 14 April respectively.

The four-piece-band, who first shot to fame after releasing their eponymous debut in 2004, can count such musical luminaries as David Bowie and David Byrne of Talking Heads, amongst their fans.

In 2011, rumours that the band had broken up proved exagerated when their latest album, Hysterical, was released.

CYHSY will play at the Wittebome Civic Centre in Wynberg and Joburg’s Town Hall in Newtown, with both shows scheduled to kick off at 8pm.
