Turns out models not only need supervision to make sure that they eat full meals, they need to be supervised when tweeting too. The latest model who clearly tweeted before she thought was Sabina Essa – “Just got out of a R2500 fine for going 140 in a 60 zone. R30! Bwahahahaha. I LOVE JMPD,” she tweeted. And if that wasn’t enough, when someone asked her if she had offered the bribe first she responded, ‘I didn’t offer, dumb-ass. They asked what I had. Of course, I’m gonna take the offer.”
To make matters even worse, she later retracted her comment, saying “So sorry for my tweet. I fabricated the story to attract attention, we sometimes all do it and [I am] superembarassed”. In truth, she panicked about the consequences her tweet would have on her plans to become an attorney when Justice Project SA CEO Howard Dembovsky, confronted her about her actions and ways of tweeting.
Guess if you are going to be an attorney, lying to your followers is a great start.
Bootyliscious Beyonce and book deals
Someone who definitely did not lie to her followers was Highveld Stereo Radio DJ Anele Mdoda (@Anele), when she set off to Atlantic City to catch her all time favourite Beyonce. She made all her twitter fans feel as if they were right there with her at the show and her timeline (TL) was flooded with pictures of Beyonce up close and personal at the concert.
Not only is Ms Mdoda a super *“Stan” for Beyonce, but this lovely and bubbly lady is soon set to launch her very first book in a series called ‘The Youngsters’ – ‘ It feels wrong to laugh but…’ which will be launching on the 14th June. If Anele’s witty on-air and twitter comments are anything to go by, this one will be a sure seller.
Twitter all a-buzz with excitement about the PSL Awards 2012. The glitzy end-year function was held at the Lyric Theatre at Gold Reef City Sunday evening to honour the League’s finest players.
And Twitter was even more a-buzz about Moroka Swallows star striker Siyabonga Nomvethe.
The 34-year old player walked away with an armful of awards including PSL Footballer of the Year, Player of the Year, Players’ Player of the Year and he won the Premiership’s top scorer award with a total of 20 goals in the league. Well done Siyabonga Nomvethe!
The new first lady of pop, Lady Gaga had to cancel her Indonesian concert because of the security threat after Islamic hardliners promised “chaos” if she entered the Muslim nation. She tweeted, “I’m so very sorry to the fans & just as devastated as you if not more. You are everything to me.”
And rumour has it Kelly Preston has finally walked out on her husband of 20 years, John Travolta. Seems she’s had enough of the pesky rumours about his sexuality that have been following him around. Gay rumours have plagued him since the 80’s, and we wonder if- where there is smoke, there is fire?
*“Stan”- It’s a term that means you’re the biggest fan. Almost stalker. Apparently Anele herself says she’s a “Stan” for Beyonce.
