Introducing Frankie Fire

June 5th, 2012

A group of five comrades bound by their unique passion for good music, fun times and the inability to dance, together form Frankie Fire, the ear-twitchingly good sound of old school rock n roll.

Born in early 2009, Frankie Fire have already left their mark on the heart of SA music fans around the country with singles “Pretty Girls”, “All Day In The Sun” and “Melody” taken off their EP “Seven”.

Made up of high profile day-time radio presenter on Jacaranda FM, Francois du Toit (lead vocals & guitar), Heinrich Pelser (backing vocals & guitar), Francois de Bruin Meyer (backing vocals & bass), Kyle Mitas (piano, sax and backing vocals) and Fred Helliwell (drums); these boys are spreading a unique sound that encapsulates anything from blues, hard rock, pop, to punk- and melodic rock. They describe this as “an exciting fusion of music and emotion resulting from varied taste, styles and experiences.” With this said expertise and knowledge of the music and entertainment industry, it is no surprise that Frankie Fire have unlocked a market yet untouched.

Come 2012 and the band are set to release their highly anticipated debut full length album ‘Take It In’.  Recorded with Grammy award winning producer Daryl Torr in Johannesburg and Mastered in Seattle by Troy Glessner at Spectre Sound, the album reveals something none other than world class.

“We are very excited to have worked with one of the top producers in the country, and to have had it mastered by Troy – responsible for numerous international breakthrough’s including Death Cab for Cutie, is an absolute dream come true” Says Francois.

“For You”, first single off the album will be released to radio stations nationwide this coming week and is bound to be a chart topper.
