Mzansi Magic’s new reality show, Clash of the Choirs SA, is bound to take the television world by storm when it airs on the channel next year. It has already secured Bonang Matheba as host and top South African musos Zakes Bantwini, Zwai Bala and Idols winner Khaya Mthethwa have scoured Gauteng, Mpumalanga and KZN respectively to find singers for their ultimate choir.
Now the competition is heating up even more. The first female to join the group of Choir Masters is South Africa’s First Lady of Afro-Pop and Jazz, Judith Sephuma.
The legendary songstress will be in Limpopo this weekend to put the choir together that will take on rivals from six other provinces all led by celebrity musos. Will she manage to find the talent that can outsing the others to walk off with the grand prize of R500 000 (R250 000 for the choir and R250 000 for the charity of their choice) Only time will tell!
The Limpopo auditions will take place on Saturday, 1 December and Sunday, 2 December at Fusion Boutique Hotel, 4 Schoeman Street, Polokwane from 08:00 – 18:00.
“I’m excited to be going back to my hometown for the Clash of the Choirs,” muses Sephuma. “I’m looking forward to seeing the talent that lies in Limpopo.”
