Idols SA 2012 winner Khaya Mthethwa launches his debut album ‘For You’ in Pietermaritzburg today.

The 25-year-old star is also expected to perform for fans in a free concert at the Royal Showgrounds in the city. He’ll be supported by up-and-coming artists.

The event, including a pre-album launch gala dinner, is being hosted by the KwaZulu-Natal Department of Arts and Culture.

Earlier today, fan @Tshepi_Bliss tweeted Khaya, asking him how he’s feeling ahead of his performance – which is likely to attract a capacity crowd. He replied: “Excited yet very, very nervous”.

Timeslive.co.za reported that the much anticipated album ‘For You’ has 13 tracks, one of which is a cover of Billy Preston’s classic “That’s The Way God Planned It”- one of Khaya’s favourites.

Catch Khaya today at the Royal Showgrounds in Pietermaritzburg. Gates open at 10am and tickets are available for free at all local municipal offices in the Umgungundlovu District.
