American R&B artist Joe Thomas is coming to South Africa later this month and a number of local acts have been selected to support the international star.

Thomas has been secured for two dates: one in Johannesburg at the Sandton Convention Centre on December 17; and another in Durban at the Durban International Convention Centre on December 18.

Afro-pop star Theo Kgosinkwe and singer Zonke will strut their stuff in Durban, while Naima McLean and Peanias Phiri will do what they do best in Jozi before Thomas takes to the stage.

Zonke is clearly delighted to have been selected, admitting it is a dream come true.

“Its an absolute honour to be chosen as opening acts for such a legendary artist,” Zonke told Sowetan.

“I consider it every artist’s dream. It is a much-needed platform towards achieving my career goals.”
