Raquel O’Donoghue, everyone’s favourite blonde bombshell from the popular reality TV show Clifton Shores, chats to us about life, love and living large!
So tell us, how does it feel to be a part of such an exciting show?
It almost feels surreal to actually be a part of Clifton Shores, and it is still hard to believe that I can watch myself on TV…
You’re a born and bred Joburg girl –what’s your favourite part about Cape Town?
I absolutely love everything about Cape Town so I try and make it down there at least once a year. My favourite part about Cape Town would have to be the beautiful scenery and views…Signal Hill is breath taking! Clifton beach is also a favourite spot of mine.
A question we’re asking everyone on the show, is what we’re seeing 100% real?
Let’s just say all the events that were filmed did actually happen, yes.
How many episodes of the show have you watched?
I’ve seen about 9 episodes
And…are you happy with the way that you are portrayed?
I’d have to say that I don’t feel my true personality was always captured on the show. That’s mainly because my part was very small but otherwise, I’m very happy with the final product.
What was your favourite moment on the show?
Being thrown in the pool at one of our events was fun. I really just enjoyed letting go and having fun…
The cast of the show are all stunning! What do you do to keep yourself in tip top shape?
I drink a lot of water. I find that the best way to keep in shape is to run and dance. I don’t dance professionally, but whenever I get the chance I shake my booty to try keep in shape. I have also recently entered into the Nike Jozi run, so if you’re going you’ll see me there!
When it comes to friendships, who did you form the closest bond with and why?
My closet bonds were with Katy, Rikki and Jamillette. I think that we have a lot in common and just clicked. Rikki is also one of the nicest people I have ever met.
Have you kept in touch with any of them since filming ended?
Yes I have! I am actually meeting up with Jamillette in December when I’ll be in the USA for a holiday.
We’re dying to know…what’s Quinton really like?
Quinton is pretty much what you see on camera – he’s a business man and very successful.
Are you currently dating or are you single?
I’m currently single…
Besides the show, what else do you do?
I work in the corporate world these days and am currently a Junior Project Manager at Onecom Digital.
On an average Saturday night – where are we most likely to find you?
I love to be out and about, and doing new things and going to different places. My favourite clubs are Icon and Nicci beach. I also enjoy going for drinks with my friends in Greenside. My favourite Saturday night dinner spots are at Ami, Signature and Oyo’s.
