As we have said our farewell to former World Heayweight boxing champion Corrie Sanders, let’s re-live his finest hour.
Former World heavyweight boxing champion Corrie Sanders was laid to rest in Pretoria on Monday.
Hundreds of friends and relatives of former world heavyweight champ filled the Wonderpark NG church in Pretoria North for his funeral on Monday morning to pay their last respects.
Sanders was murdered in a restaurant robbery in Brits on 22 September.
Sanders’ finest hour as a boxer was undoubtedly his upset second round victory over Ukanian Wladimir Klitschko to capture the World Boxing Organisation’s heavyweight title in March 2003 in Hanover, Germany.
He retired five years later and was a very accomplished golfer, philanthropist and charity campaigner.
