Sowetanlive has reported that the broadcast date for Zanele Mbokazi’s highly anticipated show, Khwezela-Rekindle, has been postponed due to a break-in that occurred at her office on Monday.
Although what was stolen cannot be made public due to the sensitivity of the case, Wendy Sithole, the company’s spokeswoman, has confirmed the incident.
“The World Gospel Powerhouse offices were broken into and crucial information was lost. Police investigators have advised us not to divulge what exactly was stolen, safe to say that it was the crux of the launch” she said.
However, reports claim that a computer hard drive containing footage and crucial documentations were stolen.
Police spokesman Captain Khephu Ndlovu confirmed the burglary and said the case is being investigated.
The show, which was due to air on the 10th of June on SABC 1, was motivated by Mbokazi’s own divorce.
Speaking to The Sowetan she said “When I went through my divorce I realised there was so much I could have done differently had I been better equipped. So I promised myself that I would push to assist singles to understand themselves and the institution of marriage before they make their vows.”
