Jodi Balfour, a South African model and actress who made it to the Top 12 of the Miss South Africa competition in 2008, is making her mark on the acting world.

The star, who studied Theatre and Performance at the University of Cape Town, has landed several prestigious guest roles on high profile shows since then. She’s appeared in shows such as “Supernatural”, “Tower Prep”, “The Philanthropist” and “V”.

She was recently selected as the lead in a new Canadian series called “Bomb Girls”, which is a mini-series that was only six episodes long in the first season, but has been signed up for 12 in the second.

The series looks at how four different women tasked with  building bombs during the Second World War deal with the situation. There is a strong message of “women power”, as it shows how important women’s contribution to the war really was.
